This promo reel is presented here for historical value.

What a trip
Love this item thoroughly. I live in Canada and didn't get the US networks until 2 years later than this when we first got cable. You have to remember that this was 'it' - No video store/VCR yet (not in mainstream anyway) and TV limited to the big networks - what they were promising for the upcoming year was a big deal. If there was going to be a big movie on TV it was real must-see TV then.
I remember lots of those schlocky programs featuring TV & sports celebrities competing (early 'reality' TV sort of).
A true time capsule. Always interesting to see how this stuff was marketed - I love this kind of stuff when it's included in DVD sets etc.. because it provides context. e.g. seeing the original commercials in programs to recreate the original experience.
